Waste not?
So, I recently broke the left-side mirror off my truck (if you can fold yours in, do so when backing up next to a fence) and found a replacement on EBAY for 1/3 the cost at the dealership; unfortunately it was the wrong part (style/size). I called the number on the invoice and was told I needed to get the OEM number of the part I needed and take pictures of it and the part I received. No big thing. Maybe the EBAY listing should have listed the OEM numbers so customers could match them up.
Anyway, I didn’t hear back from them, so I called today. For $2 more I they will send me the part I need, and what do I do with the other mirror? No, they aren’t refunding my money for it. They don’t want it back. But they also aren’t charging me for it; rather, I’ve been told to trash it because it would cost more to ship it back to them than it’s worth.
I realize that there probably aren’t that many ‘98 chevy s10s out there with missing left-side mirrors, but just throw it away?
Let me know if you need a mirror.
